Albania has always been an attractive tourist destination! In fact, tourism has become the keyword of our country’s national, social and economic development. Tourism has constantly aroused the curiosity of foreign tourists due to its unique nature, enabling all types of tourism, such as mountain, coastal, health, cultural and historical tourism. In this context, GAF aims at creating the necessary partnerships between the public and private sector in order to increase domestic and foreign investment.

    Our objectives in this area are:

  • Increasing awareness of local and central government to invest in infrastructure development;
  • Developing new concepts of tourism marketing strategies;
  • Promoting tourism at national and international level;
  • Organizing promotional activities in the most visited and most beautiful destinations in Albania;
  • Discovering rare destinations by turning them into tourist attractions;
  • Providing support and advice to new businesses or young people who have innovative ideas in the field of tourism;
  • Increasing awareness to protect nature.

"Sustowns" project

"Grow Albania" Foundation was involved in the "Sustowns" project, represented by its 2 experts from the media world, Omer Saraçi and Dafina Hysa. "Suntowns" is a project funded by Interreg MED and managed nationally by the Association of Albanian Municipalities. Albania is one of the 13 beneficiary countries of this project.

This project aimed to assess the current situation of tourism in the Shkodra region, highlighting its problems and unexploited potential. The project also aimed to promote this region, through video spots, which highlight the rare natural beauties of the area of Velipoja, Shala and Guri i Zi.

Part of this process was interviewing representatives of local government administrative units, local tour operators, guides and more. These interviews highlighted current issues, as well as untapped opportunities in order to enrich the local offer. The realized video-spots will serve for the promotion of the tourist attractions of these areas.
